Wander through the ancient Mayan city at daybreak observing birds and listening to their morning chatter.
Learn about the spiritual functions of birds held sacred to the pre-Hispanic Mayans. You may encounter endemic species such as the Yucatan vireo, motmot, trogon and white-fronted parrot.
Depending on the season, you may also come across transient birds such as the summer tanager, yellow-throated warbler, palm warbler, mangrove warbler and red-eyed vireo.
Follow a trail through the jungle and climb the observation tower to get a birds-eye view of the surrounding area.
Return to Muyil to complete the tour.
